Emmy Bethel L.Ac

Emmy holds a Master's degree in Classical Chinese Medicine which includes Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalism. She has been practicing massage therapy for 20+ years and still does on an almost daily basis. Her background is in the study of Anthropology and she is fluent in Spanish. She has studied with a Mayan Indian medicine man in the state of Chiapas in Southern Mexico and considers this influence fundamental.

Perhaps her most esteemed accomplishment to date has been the incredible privilege to be the mother of two amazing humans. She is in love with the beauty, challenge and learning that has been her experience of parenting.

Emmy blends many years of exploration in her own personal healing with extensive training in a wide variety of modalities. She has dedicated her life to challenging herself to keep learning and growing. One of her favorite ways to do this is by throwing herself into other cultures and finding that just right balance of the discomfort that nudges us to keep growing and understanding.

In her work she considers herself a “general practitioner,” with a strong focus and life-long commitment to food as medicine and therefore focuses on nutrition in her practice. She has an affinity for working with psycho-emotional issues, auto-immune conditions and trauma, in addition to pediatrics, geriatrics and pain.
