Nic Melo, L.Ac

For Nic, what first began as a fascination with medicinal plants and fungi has evolved into a lifelong study of Chinese medicine. She sees herself as a general practitioner treating a wide range of issues, with a focus on pain and musculoskeletal conditions, and supporting mental and behavioral health. She often incorporates tui na (Chinese medical massage), moxibustion, and herbal medicine into her treatments.

Nic understands that one individual’s wellbeing is inextricably connected to the health of that person’s community, and to the social, cultural, and natural environments in which we all reside. Sharing Chinese medicine with her community is a fulfilling way to support both individual resilience and our collective healing and liberation. The wisdom of Chinese medicine continues to withstand the test of time, and Nic is excited to help her patients integrate this ancient practice into their wellness routines.

Nic is a Capricorn with a Pisces moon, and when they’re not in the clinic you can find them with a crossword or book by the river, playing in the forest, growing food and medicine, dancing, or cooking up something delicious and nourishing in the kitchen. They received a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine from Daoist Traditions College in Asheville, NC, and are a licensed acupuncturist in North Carolina.
